ON TAP This Week…
Football season is over. I wonder if winter is as well. Not a lot going on this week as we gear up for the holiday of love. I think every S/O can appreciate a nice craft beverage as a gift. Good thing we have lot of great choices locally. Read on for details on events, releases and news on our local craft beverage scene in the Northern Nevada region.
This is a new release and an event, Alibi Ale Works will be releasing their newest sour – Mr. Tartacular’s Big Berry Tickler – This beer was soured in the kettle then re-fermented with boysenberry, blueberry and raspberry puree. A swirling culmination of dark berries dancing with tongue-tickling tartness and jammy purple deliciousness. Alibi will be releasing bottles at Piñon Bottle Shop this Thursday. Piñon will also have a handful of other Alibi beers on tap. Plus, Kevin, Rich and Kristi will be there giving sweet high-fives.

Meet Local Home Winemakers – try a locally made wine free of charge and please make a donation to the winemaker’s charity of choice. This month meet Jason and Debi Schultz of Twin Mustang Vineyards in Spanish Springs. They’ll be pouring their 2017 Frontenac Gris, 2017 Edelweiss, 2016 Marquette and 2016 Frontenac. Twin Mustang Vineyards was established in 2007 and is currently growing 410 French Hybrid grapevines of 5 different varieties. Jason and Debi’s charity is the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Alibi Ale Works will be releasing their newest sour – Mr. Tartacular’s Big Berry Tickler, see above. 5.0% ABV.
Alibi is also releasing Loral Saison, straight out of an oak vessel, fermented with two different types of saison yeast and a variety of brettanomyces strains. Dry hopped after fermentation with Loral hops that lend a delightful herbaceous nose. Creamy, banana, bubblegum flavors give way to a sultry dry finish. 4.8% ABV.
Revision Brewing Co. has begun to distribute beer to the state of Maine after joining forces with Vacationland Distributing. With Maine in the mix, the brewery is now distributing beer to a total of ten states. And, to keep up with production needs they are bringing in three new eighty-barrel fermenters (that’s big!).
The Eddy is closed for the season and will re-open in March.
