ON TAP This Week…
Season’s Greetings! I’m up in the Pacific Northwest for the week and am enjoying some visits to the breweries in the Seattle/Tacoma area. With over 175 breweries just in and around the city, I don’t think I will get to them all. I am collecting a few bottles and cans to bring back to Reno with me. I will try to keep this brief. Read on for info on events, releases and news on our local craft beverage scene.

On Wednesday, December 13th – the actual anniversary – they will have a celebratory toast and beer-infused cupcakes at the Incline Taproom. Did you know that we have an EVENTS page! Just in case you wanted to plan ahead…
Lead Dog Brewing has released The Dankster Double IPA on tap in the tasting room! Cans will follow in the coming weeks. Triple dry-hopped with Mosaic and Columbus hops. 8.8% ABV.
South Lake Brewing has released The Fog Nozzle, a New England style IPA fermented with an expressive yeast and hopped to the gills with Mosaic, Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Azacca hops. Notes of oatmeal with apricot preserves, pineapple, mango orange juice, and a hint of coniferous forest. 6.8% ABV and 35 IBU
10% of proceeds from the Fog Nozzle will go directly to the Lake Tahoe Fire Academy scholarship fund.
IMBĪB Custom Brews has released Huckleberry NV Weisse on tap. In-house only and full of juicy ripe, fresh, hand-picked huckleberry goodness. 4.2% ABV.
Alibi Ale Works has two new releases:
IPA Batch 256 is their newest batch of IPA and features Strata hops, with a bit of Centennial for good measure. Strata is a new hop grown only in Oregon’s Willamette Valley by Indie Hops. By layering it over a simple base of Pilsner malt and flaked barley, this hop really sings with aromas of passion fruit, Hawaiian Punch, white wine grapes, and a bit of sticky green dank. As this hop transitions from being an experimental variety to full production, it’s in very short supply. They used the entire 2017 allotment on this batch 6.3% ABV.
Belgian Table Beer with Mandarins is a low-ABV, light and creamy Belgian Ale that’s flavorful enough to accompany great food. Loaded with oats and wheat for body, fermented with a classic Belgian yeast (from Chimay), then conditioned it with a bunch of cold-pressed, local organic mandarin orange juice from Sunset Ridge Farm. The result is a deliciously easy drinking Belgian beer with a kiss of fresh mandarin oranges. 3.8% ABV.
