ON TAP this week…
So, there’s a big football game this weekend. Several breweries and taproom are having viewing events. Check the feed of your favorite establishment for details. Also, apparently, Ground Hog Day is becoming a thing (the day, not the movie, but most likely the day, because of the movie) so you might be seeing a handful of drink specials in the name of “a thousand people, freezing their butts off, waiting to worship a rat” on February 2nd. Don’t forget to order a sweet Vermouth on the rocks with a twist. There’s a handful of events and a few releases this week. Read on for details about events, releases and news for our local craft beverage scene for the upcoming week in the Northern Nevada region. Cheers!

We have added a couple of new happenings to our EVENTS page! Just in case you wanted to plan ahead…
Basin and Range Cellars has released their 2017 Frontenac wine. Deep purple in color, an abundance of dark fruit on the nose, ripe plum, blackberry, fig, spice, violet and tobacco. Subtle vanilla or caramel expressed by light oak. Balanced acidity. A well-structured wine. Bottle price is $25 available in the tasting room.
The Depot has released The Highlander Scotch Ale. This full bodied brown/ruby colored ale with rich, malty, caramel, and brown sugar notes is only on draft seasonally. 9.2% ABV.
Alibi Ale Works has released Cookie Pusher Chocolate Peppermint Milk Stout on NITRO. Cookie Pusher is inspired by the famous Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie and dedicated to the many entrepreneurial young ladies who hustle those delicious little cookies every spring. Cookie Pusher started as a traditional milk stout, brewed with milk sugar for added creaminess, then it was conditioned with cocoa nibs and natural peppermint extract. They’re serving this beer on nitro to make it extra awesome. Draft only at both locations. 5.1% ABV.
Mammoth Brewing has released Saucer Boy Hazy IPA with Lactose. It’s brewed with Citra and Galaxy hops, has a nice passion fruit, citrus nose with a juicy body and a mellow bitterness. The lactose in it gives it a creamier mouth feel. 5.9% ABV.
The 395 Craft Beer & Spirits is now open in Golden Valley.
Thrillist released an article, The Most Underrated Brewery in Every State. The Nevada favorite is IMBĪB Custom Brews.
