It’s the most wonderful time for a beer. There are so many great local craft selections this time of year that gifting seems easy for your favorite craft lover. This week we don’t have a lot going on and a handful of releases. Read on for details on events, releases and news on our local craft beverage scene in the Northern Nevada region.

Seven Troughs Distilling has teamed up with Reno’s own Warrior Roasters to bring you this special holiday treat, Nevada Coffee Liqueur. Darkly roasted “Oh Dark Thirty” coffee, select spices, and Seven Troughs Black Rock Rum combine to make this rich and deeply flavored coffee liqueur. Perfect for the cold weather! IMBĪB Custom Brews posted that Abiogenesis 7 has hit the taps. This barrel-aged blend is made up of 40% 32 month old barrel aged beer. Making it their oldest blend to date. This beer has bright aromas of grapes, acidity, fruity Brett funk. The beer has muscat grape sweetness upfront with hints of apricot and finishes dry. Very unique, very limited. 8% ABV
Also, Freshy POW IPA is Amarillo hopped and on cask.
Revision Brewing is releasing their second Triple IPA in two weeks. This release, Drifting Through the Hop Yard in only available in the Revision taproom and Total Wine & More in Reno and Northern California starting 12/19. It is loaded with fruit-driven hops like Citra, El Dorado and Amarillo, tempered by Warrior and Simcoe. This is a tasty flight of fancy through a Yakima hop yard. This was brewed exclusively for Total Wine and is a rare, one batch brew. The label is in memory of Jeremy Warren’s Grandmother, Sharron Harvey. Flying at 105 IBU’s and an 11% ABV. Big hops, no haze.
Revision Brewing Co has started distributing in Vermont. They recently signed an agreement with Vermont Beer Shepherd, located in Waterbury, VT.
Each year CraftBeer.com invites thousands of craft beer lovers to vote for their favorite local beer bar. The Great American Beer Bar Poll wants to know your favorite beer bar where you live. They’ll tally the results and list the 2018 Great American Beer Bars from each U.S. state.
CrafatBeer.com collected more than 7,000 votes for the 2017 poll. Last year’s Nevada winner was Aces & Ales in Las Vegas. Vote now through Jan. 7, 2018 HERE. Note: Voting is limited to one vote per IP address. So, there will be no ballot stuffing.
