ON TAP this week…
Christmas is just around the corner. We hope you have your tree trimmed and your stockings are all hung by the chimney with care. Read on for details about events, releases and news for our local craft beverage scene for the upcoming week in the Northern Nevada region. Cheers!
As we all know, The Camp Fire has become the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history. The fire burned more than 153,000 acres, killed over 85 people, and destroyed more than 13,000 homes.
In the days following the fire, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co announced plans to brew Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, a fundraiser beer for Camp Fire relief. They committed to brewing the beer and donating 100% of the sales to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund, aimed at long-term community rebuilding support. And they asked every brewery in the country to do brew it with them. So far, over 1,400 breweries have signed up to brew the Resilience recipe, including a handful of Nevada breweries. Along with brewing Resilience, breweries are pledging a portion taproom sales for Camp Fire relief efforts.
Local brewers of Resilience include Lead Dog Brewing, Revision Brewing, The Brewer’s Cabinet, Bad Beat Brewing, Hop Nuts Brewing, CraftHaus Brewery, FiftyFifty Brewing, Shoe Tree Brewing, Fox Brew Pub, Alibi Ale Works, Mammoth Brewing and Tenaya Creek Brewery. They are all doing their part by brewing and donating the proceeds from their batches of Sierra Nevada Resilience IPA. Some batches are ready now. Others are in the process of being brewed. If you see it, consider a purchase.
Also, this Friday (12/14), NV brewers will be participating in Pints for Paradise where 20% of taproom sales will be donated to victims of the Camp Fire. Participating locations include 10 Torr Distilling & Brewing, Great Basin Brewing, IMBĪB Custom Brews, Pigeon Head Brewery, Brasserie Saint James, Big Dog’s Brewing, Lovelady Brewing, The Fox Brewpub and Gordon Biersch. Please consider visiting these establishments.
