IMBĪB Custom Brews presents the 4th Annual Barrel-Aged Beer Takeover and parking lot party. The entire taplist with a very limited release of the most rare barrel-aged beers. Many of these have not been on tap before and some may never be again so you will not want to miss this day. The variety of beers include bourbon barrel-aged, wild, funky, and sour beers. No growler/crowler sales. La Barca (voted Reno’s best tacos) will be serving up tasty food in the parking lot. There is a beer list on their social feeds FB, IG .

Southern Nevada has a new brewery. Astronomy Aleworks will celebrate their Grand Opening this Saturday. 4 special beers tapping that day include: Pollux Pumpkin and Castor Coffee, these are rifs of their Gemini Porter. Gamma Ray Gruit is a weisse beer fermented with 2 yeasts and bittered with a variety of spices. And, Curiosity, named after the rover on the fourth planet of our solar system, this is the Mars Red Aged in 5 gallon barrels seasoned with Jim Beam.

Let’s go nuts! Join Great Basin Brewing, October 16, 17, and 18 (or as long as the pine nuts last) at either the Reno or Sparks brewpubs where you’ll get a FREE pint of Great Basin beer for each pint of pine nuts you crack. You’ll also get a coupon for a FREE pint of the beloved Harvest Ale (brewed with said pine nuts) when it’s ready and on tap in November!

At Beer NV, during the month of October, they will be running a promotion called Kegs Against Breast Cancer. Part of the proceeds from the sales of certain kegs will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The keg currently on tap for this promotion is Braupakt, a collaboration between Weihenstephaner and Sierra Nevada. Keep an eye out for future keg announcements.

Releases

Quintopia Brewing has released Pale Ale # 3 – a touch lighter color and body than previous versions, and a tweak on the hops, this is still crisp, clean and firmly bitter.

Shoe Tree Brewing has a new beer BlackBerry Saison. Packed with Blackberries giving a fruity nose mixed with notes of clove and banana. This bad boy finishes dry and tart.
