Lake Tahoe AleWorX Taproom & Pizzeria is in the planning stages with an interesting concept to open a new brewery in South Lake Tahoe at 2050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., the site of the new Crossing at the Y.

Beers will be brewed on-site on a one-barrel system. Currently, they are contract brewing at the Alibi Ale Works brewery in Incline Village which is being overseen by Josh Watterson, Head Brewer at Brasserie St. James.

Owner/CEO, Luca Genasci

The taproom will feature self-service beer via a chip reader in a wristband allowing access to up to 30 taps. Along with AleWorkX creations, Owner/CEO, Luca Genasci wants to carry other local beers, select wines, kombucha, root beer and nitro coffee. The location will also feature a create-your-own woodfire pizza station that will allow patrons the option to build a pizza from over 30 fresh ingredients.

Future plans also call for local then regional distribution of kegs along with canned beers as well as looking into a national distribution model sometime down the road. Opening is slated for late winter or spring 2017.

There is a good article in the Tahoe Daily Tribune, found here, that goes more into depth about Genasci’s concept and collaborative efforts.

We look forward to the grand opening and will have more details on their beers as they get closer to opening.
