More Breweries/Wineries coming to East 4th Street
The 4th Street “Brewery District” is set to add some more players in the next several months. The latest entries are going into 415 East 4th (the space that Lake Tahoe Brewing was trying to open). I met Ryan Gaumer, Owner and Head Brewer of Lead Dog Brewing. He is building a 15 barrel brewhouse with an accompanying taproom. Ryan described his ales as being in a “Northwest” hop forward style. They are shooting at being open toward the end October.
Also moving into the adjacent space next door will be three wineries. All three are in the process of securing licensing. Their names are Great Basin Winery, Nevada Sunset Winery and Basin & Range Cellars. No additional information is available at this time but we’ll keep digging. These will be the first wineries licensed in Washoe County since the law was amended to allow them.
Also of note, directly across from 415 E 4th, Studio on 4th is stepping up their craft beer game by committing to feature 6 – 8 beers from Alibi Ale Works all the time. And, according to Alibi they may also get some special one-offs and seasonals in the feature.
