Nevada Young Alumni Chapter to Host 25th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser, Beer Fest 2018
The Young Alumni Chapter invites the Reno community to their
annual beer tasting event benefiting University of Nevada students

Reno, NV. – The Nevada Young Alumni Chapter will host its 25th Annual Beer Fest scholarship fundraiser on Friday, April 6, 2018. The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the downtown Reno Ballroom (401 N Center St). The region’s oldest and premier tasting event, Beer Fest has allowed the Young Alumni Chapter to donate over $70,000 in financial aid over the last 15 years. Attendees are invited to taste award winning brews and spirits from over 50 breweries and distilleries including The Depot, IMBĪB Custom Brews, Revision Brewing, 10 Torr Distilling and Brewing, and many more. Event tickets start at $35 when purchased online at www.NevadaYAC.com by April 5th or in person at Midtown Diamonds (777 S Center St #102) by April 6th. This is a 21+ event, but you do not need to be a University of Nevada graduate to attend.

Each attendee will receive a commemorative pint glass, courtesy of Mann Mortgage, to taste the nearly 100 unique brews and spirits on tap for the evening. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase during the event for prize packages comprised of donations from numerous local businesses. The drawing for raffle prizes will be held towards the end of the event and winners must be present to claim any prizes won.

“As a board, we are very excited to put this event on year after year,” said Tony Gallian, President for the Nevada Young Alumni Chapter. “We expect this year’s event to be our biggest to date in terms of both vendors and attendees present, which is great news for University of Nevada scholarship recipients.”

Since 1994, Beer Fest has allowed the Nevada Young Alumni Chapter to raise scholarship funds for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Nevada. The scholarships awarded have helped many students over the years achieve their educational goals by easing financial burdens. Over just the last two years, the Young Alumni Chapter proudly awarded almost $30,000 in financial aid to deserving Nevada students and they plan to grow that total in 2018 with the support of the community and event sponsors Mann Mortgage, Custom Truck Accessories, Midtown Diamonds, Western Nevada Supply, and Reno Media Group.

The Nevada Young Alumni Chapter is an official sub-chapter of the Nevada Alumni Association – a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization – designated for members who have graduated from the University of Nevada in the last 10 years. It was organized to provide a connection to colleagues and peers, promote the ongoing development of young alumnus, and to provide opportunities to current students of the University of Nevada through the allocation of scholarship funds.
