Beer Event – Freeze Your Pints Off – March 23
When Under The Rose Brewing closed it also meant the demise of Freeze Your Pints Off as it was a UTR property. Fortunately, the owners allowed this popular festival to continue. This year it is being produced by the Nevada Craft Brewers Association and has a whole new location, look and feel.
The fifth annual Freeze Your Pints Off beer festival takes place Saturday, March 23 from 1-5 PM. It is an outdoor beer festival. FYPO will feature local breweries showcasing their strong beers, winter warmers and barrel aged brews. The festival will also include music by a local DJ and local food trucks. Festival Tickets include beer tasting, a meal from a local food truck and commemorative tasting cup.
This year the festival will be held at City Plaza in Downtown Reno (1st & Virginia, the one with the big whale and ‘BELIEVE’).
Participating Breweries include:
- 10 Torr Distilling and Brewing
- Alibi Ale Works
- Brewers Cabinet
- The Depot Craft Brewery and Distillery
- The Fox Brewpub
- Great Basin Brewing Company
- IMBIB Custom Brews
- Lead Dog Brewing Co.
- Pigeon Head Brewery
- Revision Brewing Company
- Silver Peak Restaurant and Brewery
- StoneyHead Brewing Co.
Local food trucks include Espinoza’s, Nomnivore, Still Rollin and Slater’s Ding-a-Wing and entertainment by DJ MoJo JoJo.
Festival Tickets are $45 – pre-sale and include unlimited responsible beer tasting, a meal ticket for a food truck and commemorative tasting cup. VIP Tickets $65 – pre-sale get you 1 hour earlier entry (12 noon). Designated Driver Tickets ($15) include a meal from a local food truck and unlimited alcohol-free drinks. Tickets can be purchased HERE .
The forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy with a high of 51. Being that this event is one month later than in previous years, don’t expect to freeze your “pint” off this year either. I might even wear shorts.
Proceeds from this event benefit The Nevada Craft Brewers Association.
